Move With Me!

Click and drag Sam's hands to raise and lower each arm. Use the buttons above the widget to switch character. Can you raise both arms above your head? Can you make one go up while the other goes down?

Why Is This Useful?

Learning about how our bodies move is an important part of growing up.

This kind of activity builds body awareness — the ability to know where your body parts are without looking at them. Children who struggle with body awareness might:

  • Bump into things often
  • Have trouble getting dressed
  • Use too much or too little force when handling objects
  • Find it hard to copy movements in sports or dance

Try These Challenges

  1. Mirror arms — raise both hands up high at the same time
  2. Opposite arms — one hand up, one hand down
  3. Slow motion — move the hands as slooowly as you can
  4. Freeze dance — move the arms around, then freeze! Where did they stop?

These are the same kinds of movement challenges we use in our physiotherapy sessions. If you'd like to learn more about how we help children develop coordination and body awareness, get in touch!
